Not shown on O.S. map. Cottage. Mid-to late C16 with minor later additions and alterations. Timber framed, of cruck construction, with red brick infill and rebuilding; corrugated iron over straw thatch roof. Two cruck-framed bays, right bay formerly open to roof, with stack added to left and right bay floored over in C17. One storey and attic. Framing to front: square panels, two from cill to wall-plate. Roughly central plank door with pointed strap hinges has timber framed gabled eaves dormer with leaded casement directly above and early C19 leaded casements to left and right, latter with infilled doorway immediately to left.
INTERIOR. Two true cruck trusses, left immediately to right of inserted stack (sawn-off on ground floor to back wall) and right with timber framed cross wall between blades. Both trusses have slightly cambered collars, left with king-post (Alcock apex-type G); original single purlins and thatching spars. Chamfered ceiling beams and joists to ground-floor rooms (original to left room) and partly infilled inglenook fireplace with chamfered wooden lintel to left stack. Semi-winder oak staircase to right of entrance and wide boarded oak floor boards to first floor. Alcock (1981), p. 143.
