Description
Meadow Croft is a cottage that likely dates back to the 16th century, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed using timber framing in cruck style, featuring irregularly sized panels and brick infill, along with a painted brick addition. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has a brick ridge stack. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the original 16th-century range oriented north-west to south-east and facing south-west. This range once included a two-bay open hall to the south-east, although that section has since been demolished. An early 19th-century wing has been added to the south-east corner, aligned north-east to south-west. The cottage is one storey high with an attic and consists of three bays, featuring 20th-century casements and eyebrow dormers. The right-hand gable reveals the former open cruck truss of the hall. Inside, three cruck trusses are present.
