Description
Mill House and an attached Mill Barn, which has been converted into a house, stand on Ebstree Road in the parishes of Trysull and Seisdon. The Mill House dates to 1749, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed of red brick painted white, with a plain tile roof and brick end stacks. The Mill House is aligned north-east/south-west, facing southeast, while the Mill Barn is attached to the south-west and aligned north-west/south-east.
The Mill House is two storeys with a gable-lit attic; it has an eaves band. It originally comprised three bays, featuring casement windows with segmental heads. There's a blind window to the first floor centre and a central French casement. A one-storey wing with an attic has been added to the left, incorporating dentilled eaves bands and approximately five bays of casement windows with segmental heads, in addition to three attic dormers. A central 20th-century door with an overlight is set within a gabled brick porch. A projecting gable of the Mill Barn is attached to the left, and metal casements are present on the right-hand return. A central datestone inscribed "Sr / R. W. / 1749" is visible on the main part of the Mill House.
