Description
Windrush Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th or 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of painted sandstone rubble, brick, and timber framing, topped with a plain tile roof and featuring a central brick stack. The cottage has a two-cell layout, aligned east-west and facing north, with one storey and a gable and rear-lit attic. The attic storey has close studding and tension braces, while the ground storey is made of brick and stone. On the south front, there is a mid-20th century door to the right, which has a boldly bracketed hood, and a casement window to the left. There are two casements to the right and one to the left, which is set within a blocked doorway. To the right, there is a lean-to extension with a glazed door. Inside, the cottage features exposed ceiling beams.
