Description

The Hollies is a late 18th- to early 19th-century house constructed of brick, partially painted and partially stuccoed, originally built as a two-story-and-attic residence. The house has been subdivided, and in the left-hand portion, now number 46, alterations have been made, including roughcast facing and an altered doorway with a later 19th-century wooden porch. Despite these changes, this section retains a Regency-style molded wood canted bay window tiered over two stories. The main section of The Hollies features a plain gable and a projecting stuccoed, pedimented wing to the right. The lower story of this wing is distinguished by an open arcade of Roman Doric columns. The east return side features an attractive pergola of wrought iron trellis-work with a balcony above. The roof is slate, with plain eaves.
