CLUN C.P. THE SQUARE (South side) The Buffalo Hotel and Former Barn adjoining to the West

House and barn, now inn. Circa C17, remodelled and extended in mid-C19. Squared and-coursed limestone, and slate and graded stone slate roof with gabled range at right-angles to road at left. 2 storeys and attic. Integral brick end-stack to right and large C17 brick and stone external lateral stack to left with pitched-roof link to attic. Deep eaves, left- hand gable with decorative barge boards. 2+2 window front with attic window in gable to left; C19 wooden cross windows with flat arches and projecting keystones; central 6-panelled door (bottom flush, centre raised-and-fielded, and top glazed) with plain doorcase and shaped brackets supporting triangular-pedimented hood. 3-stepped former mounting block adjoining to left. One-storey addition to right with central brick stack in front of ridge; 4 segmental-headed small-paned fixed-light windows to right; C20 half-glazed door to. left with side- lights and segmental-headed overlight. Interior: C19 staircase with closed string, turned balusters, moulded handrail and square newel post. Barn now hotel building adjoining to right. Timber framed (partly rendered and rebuilt in brick to rear) with coursed limestone rubble end wall to West, and slate roof; one storey and partial loft; 5 small C20 casements to left and large double doors to right.
