Description

The Bright Memorial is a pedestal tomb located approximately 18 metres southeast of the chancel of the Church of St Mary. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of sandstone ashlar. The tomb features a moulded plinth, raised panels with quadrant corners, a frieze, a moulded cornice, and concave capping with a square finial gabled on each face. It commemorates Edward Bright, who died on November 15, 1837. An earlier inscription was illegible at the time of the survey in November 1984.
