Description

No. 82 and 82A on Corve Street is a house, now divided into two homes, dating from the late 18th century, with a core that likely dates back to the 17th century. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a plain tile roof, with a brick stack on the left and a 17th-century brick stack at the rear. It stands three stories high with a cellar and has a three-window range, featuring 6/6 sash windows in plain cases under gauged brick flat arches, with 3/3 sashes above. The eaves are decorated with brick modillion.

The central entrance has a 19th-century, six-panel door with a fanlight, set in a plain round-headed case beneath a moulded hood supported by plain pilasters. To the left, there is an inserted 19th-century six-panel door in a moulded case under a moulded hood on plain consoles. The left and right sides of the building have 6/6 sashes, with early 19th-century sashes on the left. The right gable is faced with brick to match the earlier roof line, which has 20th-century plain tiles and slate hanging above, along with a stepped painted brick and render chimney.

At the rear, there is a two-story wing with an attic. Inside, there is an early 19th-century stick-baluster staircase, a fireplace, and a queen-strut roof. The stone-lined cellar features chamfered ceiling beams and a fireplace. The rear wing is built of rubble and has exposed ceiling beams and roof trusses, along with an elm winder staircase.
