Meashill Farmhouse

Meashill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century and early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in English bond and features a hipped slate roof. The building is designed in an L-shape and has one and a half to two storeys. It has a plinth, a first-floor cill string, and end stacks. The facade consists of three bays, with the central bay slightly recessed. The windows are glazing bar sashes with gauged heads, and there is a tripartite window on the ground floor. Access is provided by four steps leading to a central half-glazed door, which has a rectangular overlight above it. The doorcase is adorned with Doric pilasters that support an entablature with a blocking course above. At the rear, there is a 1½ storey wing from the 18th century, made of red brick with some uncoursed rubble and an old tile roof featuring three stacks. This building is notable for its use of English bond brickwork as late as the early 19th century.
