Description
The Wood is a mid to late 18th-century house located on Donington Lane in Donington. It is constructed of red brick and sits on a plinth, topped with a plain tiled double span roof that features two axial valley stacks. The gable ends extend across as a parapet between the ridges, with raised verges supported by stone kneelers and a moulded eaves cornice. The building has three storeys and includes three glazing bar sash windows with gauged heads, featuring 15 panes on the ground floor and reduced proportions on the top floor. A central stone porch with a moulded entablature leads to half-glazed double doors, topped by a lantern in the fanlight. Additionally, there are two late 19th-century or early 20th-century two-storeyed bowed windows on the left return front.
