Description
The milestone in the grounds of Acorn Cottage is a square section sandstone structure from the late 18th century or early 19th century, featuring a pyramidal top. It is inscribed on three faces with lettering in a crude style reminiscent of the 17th or early 18th century. The southern face indicates the direction to Shifnal, the eastern face points to Brewood, and the western face directs to Tong. Additionally, an Ordnance Survey bench mark is cut into the lower part of the southern face.
