SJ 3514 ALBERBURY WITH ALBERBURY CARDESTON C.P. 12/36 Retaining wall and - gate pier adjoining Welsh Lodge to south-west

GV II

Retaining wall and gate pier. Circa 1832. Coursed Alberbury breccia rubble with red sandstone coping. Irregular U-plan, between approximately 2 metres and 1/2 metre high; Gothic Revival style. Chamfered coping, ramped up to east. Gate pier at east end; red sandstone; square section with trefoil-headed panelled sides and top with gables to each face. Gate now replaced by grid. Included for group value.
