Description
These railings, dating from the early 19th century, are located approximately one metre to the south of The Elephant and Castle Hotel and Nos. 1-4, The Post House. They are made of cast iron and rest on a chamfered dressed grey sandstone base, extending about 22 metres in length. The design features arrowhead railings with square-section standards topped with urn finials, along with curved stanchions. Additionally, there are two wrought-iron gates that incorporate spearhead railings and curved braces.
