Description
The Cobblers Shop and dwellings over is a building located on Tower Street in Ludlow, dating from the early 19th century with earlier elements. It is constructed of brick, painted at the ground floor, and features a slate roof along with an 18th-century brick buttress stack on the right side. The building has three storeys, an attic, and a cellar, with a three-window range. The ground floor has 20th-century, 2/2 sash windows beneath fluted stucco lintels, while the upper floors have 3/6 sashes. There is a storey band and two 20th-century restored dormers with 20th-century casements and overlights, topped with semi-circular leaded roofs. The shopfront, also from the 20th century, includes an entrance on the right and a four-panel door with a casement overlight on the left, along with a fascia board above. The rear of the building features 18th-century elements with storey bands, 19th-century 6/6 sashes, various lights, casements, and blocked openings, all under a plain tile roof with twin gables. This building is included for its group value.
