Description

This is an outbuilding located approximately 10 meters north-west of Sodylt Old Hall. It is dated 1719, with the front partially rebuilt in the early 19th century. The structure is made of red brick on a red sandstone block plinth at the left gable end and rear, while the front features 19th-century brick. The roof is slate.

On the front, there is a segmental-headed plank door positioned to the far right, with a segmental-headed centre-hung casement immediately to the left. To the left of center, there is another segmental-headed plank door, accompanied by a segmental-headed window immediately to its left. A datestone inscribed with "1719" is located on the left gable end, with a hatch directly below it. There is an external end stack to the right, which has a single-storey lean-to structure attached.

Inside, the external end stack features a 19th-century inglenook fireplace, complete with a chamfered segmental wooden lintel and a bread oven. The left room has a large stone cobbled floor. The interior includes timber-framed cross walls that support the trusses. The roof is a single-purlin design with three bays, featuring queen struts to the inner trusses on the left, which have V-struts from the collar, and one straight windbrace. There is a loft in the two right bays. This building is included for its group value.
