Coach House And Stable Block Approximately 10 Metres To North Of Besford Grange Farmhouse

The coach house and stable block, located approximately 10 meters north of Besford Grange Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof. The building is a long range positioned at right angles to the road and consists of two storeys. Notable architectural details include a dentil brick eaves cornice and parapeted gable ends.

The central loft door is boarded and may have been added later, with a circular pitching eye to its right. On the ground floor, there is a segmental-headed stable door to the left, flanked by segmental-headed two-light windows. To the right, a central boarded sliding door is accompanied by a segmental-headed window, leading to the coach house, which has a pair of large boarded doors set in a depressed archway.

The right-hand gable end features a dovecote in the apex with three tiers of openings, while the left-hand gable end has a segmental-headed window on each floor, although the first-floor window is blocked. This gable end also has a dovecote in the apex with six tiers of openings. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
