9/61 Besford House Farmhouse - GV II

Farmhouse. Early to mid-C17 with mid- to late C19 alterations and addition. Timber framed with painted brick nogging on dressed red sandstone plinth, right-hand end wall pebbledashed; brick additions; slate roofs. Framing: small square panels and small rectangular panels, eaves raised by one panel's height probably in early to mid-C19. L- plan; C17 range of 3 framed bays with C19 rear wing. 2 storeys and attic with 2 storey addition. Pair of external lateral brick stacks at rear (that to left now at junction with rear wing). Three C19 gable eaves dormers with 2-light C20 metal casements. 3'first-floor and 2 ground-floor windows; late C19 two- and 3-light wooden-framed metal casements with weatherings. Central 4-panelled door (lower2 beaded flush and upper 2 glazed) with moulded architrave and late C19 gabled wooden porch. Rear wing with brick ridge stack; lean-to in angle. Interior not inspected.
