11/61 Barn approx. - 8 metres to west of Nos. 1 and 2, Top Farmhouse

Barn. Circa 1700 with some C19 alterations. Weatherboarded timber frame on sandstone rubble plinth, one end wall partly rebuilt in red brick; corrugated iron roof. 5 framed bays. Framing: widely spaced studs with long straight tension braces. Scattered boarded doors and loft doors. Interior: tie-beam roof trusses with raking struts and collar and tie-beam trusses with queen- struts; pairs of purlins with wind braces; some timbers seem to be reused. The barn forms part of a small farmstead group with Top Farmhouse (q.v.). Included for group value.
