Description
This barn, located 25 metres south-south-east of Number 2 (Cross Farmhouse), dates from around 1700 and has been altered and partly rebuilt in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame, with the left bay having brick infill and the right bay displaying some later timbering and corrugated iron cladding. The right gable has been completely rebuilt in brick, and the roof is made of corrugated iron. The barn consists of three bays, with the centre bay previously having a large cart entry that is now partly infilled with brick, featuring diaper vents and lower double doors. The original roof trusses include inset principal rafters and double purlins. This barn is included for its group value.
