Description
This urn-shaped memorial, located approximately 15 meters southeast of the chancel of the Church of St Edith, dates from around 1805. It is made of limestone and features a large urn on a circular moulded pedestal. There is a cast-iron bracket on top that once held a finial. The inscription on the north side is largely indecipherable as of the last survey in 1985, while the inscription on the south side commemorates Elizabeth, who died in 1824, and identifies her as the 'relict' of Nathan Porteus.
