Description

Wrentnall Cottages is a farmhouse that has been divided into two cottages. It dates from the mid-17th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. The building is timber framed with painted brick infill and has a machine tile roof. It is one storey high with an attic and consists of four framed bays. The framing features square panels, with three panels extending from the cill to the wall-plate, supported by short straight tension braces from the wall posts. The bottom two panels at the front have been partly replaced by a high brick plinth. The right gable end is clad in uncoursed limestone rubble.

The cottage has irregular fenestration, featuring two three-light late 19th-century casements on either side of a boarded door to the left, and two more casements on either side of another boarded door to the right. Both doors are topped with late 20th-century gabled hoods. There are three late 20th-century gabled eaves dormers, two on the left and one on the right. A central late 19th-century grey and brown brick ridge stack is present, with integral end stacks on both sides.
