Description

The Edwards memorial is a chest tomb located about 0.5 metres west of the nave of the Church of St Mary. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. The tomb features console brackets at the corners, a moulded cornice, and a flat top. An inscription panel is framed by low relief trailing foliage. The inscription reads: "In Memory of/ Althea the Wife of the Revd/ Edward Edwards Rector of this Parish who/ died July the 27th 1775/ Aged 46".
