Description

The Former Swan Inn, dating from around 1651, is a timber-framed building with plaster, standing three storeys tall with the upper floors overhanging. It features 18th-century windows throughout, a notable wrought-iron sign, and wood modillion eaves. The building has three hipped dormers and a tiled roof, with a slated pentice roof at the ground floor that extends over a covered way leading to a courtyard and the adjoining shop at number 51. This picturesque structure is in good condition. The Former Swan Inn, along with numbers 50 and 51, and numbers 53 to 57, forms a cohesive group.
