Description

No. 57 High Street is an early 17th-century building featuring a timber frame and plaster that has been restored. The first floor has been refaced with roughcast, and there are modern windows. The upper storey is characterized by two gables, both of which are timbered. A moulded wood cornice is present at the second floor. The shop front is modern, and there is a large timber frame and painted brick extension at the rear. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 50 and 51, the Swan Inn, and Nos. 53 to 57.
