Description

This is a late 18th-century red brick house located on the south side of High Street. It has a slate roof with stone coping to the gable ends and a stone-coped parapet. The house is three storeys high and has three bays. The left and right bays are semicircular, each featuring convex sash windows with glazing bars on every floor, with rusticated lintels. The ground floor windows are tripartite sashes with decorated lintels. A window on the second floor is blind. The central doorway is pilastered and topped with a semicircular fanlight above a glazed door. A trellis-work porch with a tent-sloped roof covers the central recess. Large brick chimney stacks are present at the gable ends. The property also includes early 19th-century front area railings, constructed from cast iron on a dwarf ashlar wall, with alternating decorated and plain shafts, and small pineapples at the gate posts of the central gateway.
