Description
This is a cowhouse located approximately 15 metres to the north-west of Pentre Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. It features a weatherboarded timber frame with coursed limestone rubble on the ground floor to the left and on the end walls, topped with a slate roof. The structure is likely composed of four framed bays, aligned in a north-west to south-east direction, and has two storeys. There is a loft opening on the left side and external steps leading up to a boarded door on the right, along with three boarded doors on the ground floor. The central weatherboarding of the hayloft has been removed, exposing the timber frame. This cowhouse is part of a complete large early 19th-century farm group situated in the middle of the hamlet, which includes Pentre Farmhouse and a barn and cowhouse to the north.
