Description
This is a cow house built in the late 18th century or early 19th century, located approximately 5 metres west of Upper Panpwnton Farmhouse. The structure features limewashed coursed limestone rubble for the ground floor and end walls, with a weatherboarded timber framed hay loft above, topped by a slate roof. It is two storeys high. On the right side, there is a boarded loft door and a window to the left. There are three boarded cow house doors on the right and a left-hand boarded door that leads to an internal staircase. This cow house is a notable example of a three-door design, where cows were stalled facing each other. The central door provides access to a feed passage, while the outer doors are used for mucking out.
