Description
This is a 17th-century farmhouse with a mid-to-late 19th century watermill, now converted into a house. The farmhouse is timber-framed with plastered infill panels, some of which are rendered and brick-clad, and has a slate roof. It consists of two framed bays and is one storey high, with an attic. A large eaves-dormer is located off-centre to the left, featuring a 2-light wooden casement window. The jettied gable of the dormer has end brackets and exposes a timber truss with four vertical struts below the collar and curved V-struts above. A 19th-century brick stack is on the right end, and a large stone stack is on the left, with weathering at the ridge. The timber framing consists of square panels, three bays high to the wall plate, with straight corner braces and close-studded dormers. The front has two windows, with mid-to-late 19th-century 2-light wooden casement windows, and a central boarded door with a 20th-century glazed lean-to porch. Inside the right-hand gable end, an exposed timber truss features a queen strut and V-struts. The former mill is constructed of coursed and roughly squared limestone with a slate roof. It is two storeys high with an attic and has two gabled eaves-dormers with 3-light wooden casement windows. The front has two windows, 2-light wooden casements, and a half-glazed door to the right.
