Description
Chapel Lawn Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been refaced, with its eaves raised and extended, likely in the mid-to-late 19th century. The building features a rendered timber frame and a slate roof. It has a baffle entry plan, probably consisting of three or four framed bays, and is two storeys high. A large central rendered ridge stack is present. The front has three windows, which are 20th-century two and three-light wooden casements. There is a central 20th-century half-glazed door that is sheltered by a 19th-century bracketed gabled porch, with a small staircase window to the left and another 20th-century half-glazed door to the right. To the right, there is a 19th-century or 20th-century lean-to with a half-glazed door at the front. At the rear, there is a 19th-century wing that is at right angles and features a brick stack. Inside, there are pairs of spine beams and joists that have chamfers and ogee stops, along with a 17th-century wooden newel staircase located to the left of the main entrance.
