Description

This barn, located approximately 30 metres south-west of the White House, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features a timber frame with a sandstone plinth, and part of the structure is underbuilt with brick. The roof is covered with corrugated metal, and there is 20th-century brick infill. The barn has five bays arranged in a north/south direction, with a central threshing floor. The roof structure includes collar and tie-beam trusses with inclined struts and two tiers of purlins.
