Description
This is a road bridge over Daren Brook, likely built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble, featuring stone-on-edge coping along the revetments, which extend about 30 yards on either side of the bridge. The barrel-vault of the bridge is made with dressed sandstone voussoirs and is aligned roughly north to south. The south elevation showcases a stilted round-headed arch, complete with projecting imposts and a keystone that has a grooved tooled pattern. Southwell Court is located about 100 yards to the east-north-east but is not included in this listing.
