Farmhouse. Probably C16 with C17 and C18 extensions and C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-frame and sandstone rubble with plaster and weather- board finishings, Welsh slate roofs and brick and rubble stacks. L-plan enlarged subsequently into T-plan with head facing roughly east. Two storeys. East elevation in two parts, C16 to left and lower C17 part to right hand side, 2:1 windows, mainly 2-light mid-C19 casements and sashes; left part has canted mid-C19 bay window to left hand side and gabled porch to right hand side containing C16 nailed and studded door with strap hinges in chamfered door frame with depressed 4-centred arch and slight ogee; right part has three ground floor wndows and a central first floor 8-pane sash. Small area of close-studded timber-framing visible at first floor level on west side of southern part. Rear wing to the west was extended into a granary in C18 and weatherboarded in mid-C20. Interior has C17 plasterwork with mouldings around ceiling beams and strap work decoration in south ground floor room; heavy ceiling beams, some with half-pyramid chamfer stops; evidence of weathering in present kitchen indicates position of outside wall to west prior to C18 extension.
