Description
Garway Court is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the early 17th century, with later extensions added. The building is constructed from roughly coursed painted sandstone rubble and features a hipped Welsh slate roof with two brick ridge stacks. It has a rectangular plan that runs roughly north to south and includes a cellar, two storeys, and three windows with late 19th-century casements that have two lights each. There is an entrance on the left with a nailed and studded 17th-century door set in a 4-centred head, and a second entrance to the right of centre that leads into a 20th-century glazed porch.
To the north of the house is a granary extension, likely from the 18th century, which has a wash-house basement. The upper level of the granary is accessed by tollet stairs from the front, with a three-barred opening to the right of the entry. To the south, there is a lower range that is one storey with an attic, which is said to have been a cider-house. This area includes tallet stairs leading to a 18th-century ledged door in the south gable, situated above a dog kennel. Inside, both the porch and the southern extensions feature interrupted trusses with dropped tie-beams.
