Description

The Baptist Chapel is a building dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed from finely coursed sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings and features a hipped Welsh slate roof. The chapel is a single storey and has a layout of two by two bays, with glazing bar windows that have intersecting top astragals in 2-centred openings, each adorned with projecting keystones. There is a central entrance located in a late 19th or early 20th century gabled porch at the west end. Attached to the east side is a gabled wing that includes a north-facing glazing bar window, likely from the early 19th century, which is decorated with swags. The interior is noted for its late 19th century pine furnishings. The chapel is prominently situated in the dispersed village of Garway.
