Description
This barn, located approximately 30 meters north-east of Vroe Farmhouse, dates back to 1679 with alterations and additions from the 18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and timber-framing, which is covered with corrugated metal cladding and roofing, while part of the lean-to addition has a Welsh slate roof. The barn has five bays arranged in a north-east to south-west direction, with a central threshing floor flanked by later lean-tos that have catslide roofs. There are three square-headed doorways on the south-west gable end. The structure includes two square panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate and inclined strut trusses. The date of 1679 is incised in the lintel above the entrance to the threshing floor. Vroe Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
