Description

The building is a barn, stable, and granary located about 15 yards north of Bolstone Court. It likely dates from the 17th, 18th, and early 19th centuries. The structure is made of sandstone rubble and features a weatherboarded timber frame with a brick extension. It has a Welsh slate roof and a rectangular plan, aligned north-north-west to south-south-east, consisting of five plus three bays and two levels.

The west elevation has a main weatherboarded section on the left and center, which includes two double-leaved doors leading to the threshing floors. To the right is the brick extension, which has two windows on the upper floor. Tallet stairs rise from the right side to a ledged door, and adjacent to the stairs is a stable door. Attached to the right is a low brick stable block from the mid-19th century, featuring a curved corner.

Inside the timber-framed section, there are collar trusses with queen struts. The brick granary extension has trusses with triple angle struts, while the single-storey stable contains bolted king-post trusses. This building is included for its group value.
