Description

A farmhouse, likely dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations. The farmhouse has a timber frame covered with roughcast rendering. The roof is covered in asbestos slate, and there's an extruded sandstone chimney stack at one end. Originally two bays aligned north-east to south-west, the farmhouse is one storey high with an attic. The north-west elevation features two gabled dormers added in the early 20th century, each with a 2-light casement window. A glazed door, added in the middle of the 20th century, is located to the left of the centre. A lower extension, containing a loft, is attached to the left end. Inside, the interior reveals exposed chamfered ceiling beams and a stone newel staircase positioned next to the fireplace. Photographs taken during a resurvey in July 1986 show the original wall framing, consisting of three square panels extending from the window sill to the wall plate, and a thatched roof.
