Description
This building is a barn and granary located approximately 30 meters west of Grange Farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century, with some parts rebuilt or extended in the mid-18th century. It is constructed from marlstone rubble and features a roof made of Welsh slate and Stonesfield slate. The barn has a four-bay layout with doors positioned to the right of the center. The rear side includes a lower door and a stable door located in the left bay. The roof is partly covered with stone slate. To the right of the barn, there is a two-storey granary that faces the rear and has a stone stair against the gable wall of the barn. Inside, the two bays on the left side of the barn have through purlins (mostly renewed) and a ridge purlin supported by a crossed-principal truss with a halved collar and an unjointed tie beam. The remaining later trusses feature fully-jointed collars and tie beams, with all members being chamfered and the purlins trenched. This building is included for its group value.
