Description
Abell Court is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, which underwent extensive remodeling in the late 18th century and early 19th century. The building features square panelled timber-framing with painted brick infill, a sandstone rubble plinth and refacing, and roughcast render on the south-east front. It has a Welsh slate roof and an irregular half-H-plan layout, facing south-east with a projecting cross-wing at the north-east end, along with axial and lateral stacks. The entrance is located on the south-east side. The farmhouse is two storeys high. The gable end of the cross-wing on the left has one 3-light casement window with a segmental head, and a similar window is found on the ground floor to the left of a ledged door. The main central range features two 3-light casement windows, and there is one similar window to the left of the doorway, which has a panelled door and a lean-to porch. The projecting gable end of the cross-wing on the right has one 2-light casement window and a canted bay window on the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
