Description

Crump Oak Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates back to the 17th century but includes part of a 14th-century building. It was remodeled during the late 18th century or early 19th century. The structure has a square panelled timber-framed core, with some brick infill and refacing. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and roughcast render on the south front, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building is arranged in an L-plan, with wings aligned east/west and north/south at the south end, and includes a large axial stack and additional lateral stacks. The entrance is located on the south front. The east/west wing is a single storey with an attic, while the second wing has two storeys, a cellar, and an attic.

On the south front, the gable end of the cross-wing to the left has brick refacing with two string courses, a circular light in the attic, and a single vertical glazing bar sash window on the first floor. The ground floor features a 16-pane glazing bar sash window with a cambered head, a 2-light casement window in the left of centre gabled dormer, a 3-light casement window to the left, and a 2-light window to the right of the gabled porch, which has a ledged door. A 4-light plain mullioned window is preserved at the rear. Inside the east/west wing, part of one cruck truss is embedded against the central stack, and there are chamfered ceiling beams with ogee stops.
