Description
Must Mill is a house dating from the late 15th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries. It features a timber frame with rendered infill set on a rubble plinth and has a corrugated iron roof. The building has two framed bays aligned north-west to south-east and includes a central stack. The north-west front is two storeys high with a jettied first floor, and there are three-light casement windows on both floors. The entrance is located at the right-hand corner and has a ledged and boarded door.
The framing is jettied on the north-west, south-east, and south-west sides, showcasing a heavily moulded bressummer, dragon beams at the corners, and curved supporting brackets. A first-floor window on the south-east side retains a moulded sill, and there is a blocked door with a four-centred head in the north-east wall. The walls are close-studded with a mid-rail, and the bressummer is supported by inserted 20th-century wooden posts.
