Includes: No. 4 ST MARTIN'S AVENUE.

Houses. Early C19 front to probably late C18 core. Stucco; hipped turnerized slate roof; two axial brick ridge stacks. Three storeys and cellar; 3-window range: blocked central opening under blind arcade, in advanced bay; to left, C20, 8/8 sash; to right, late C19 plain sash; all under filled segmental heads with key motif; storeyband; 4/4 sashes; cornice, and parapet with central engraved pediment. Rusticated stucco to ground floor, with storeyband and engraved pilasters over; to left centre, enriched panelled door with key motif, and overlight, under C20 restored flat hood and scrolled consoles on fluted pilasters; to left, C20, 8/8 sash; to right, C19 plain sash. Internal evidence of wider overlight suggests subdivision and refronting: right returned side (No. 4, St. Martin's Avenue): similar, but with all plain sashes, unblocked central opening, and simpler hood and consoles with panelled architrave. INTERIOR: dogleg staircase with stick balusters and turned newels. First floor: 6-panel door with fluted architrave. Ground floor: C19 fireplace; picture-rail; wood lined arch with bead architrave; fluted architrave to door; ceiling coving; panelled risers, to windows with fluted architraves; 4-panel door. Cellar: flagstone floor; stone-lined.
