Description

The houses at 11 and 13 St Martin’s Street date from the early 19th century, constructed with a stucco finish over brick, and featuring a stone plinth and a Welsh slate roof. A central brick chimney stack rises from the roof, with a 20th-century addition at the top. The two-storey buildings, with an attic and cellars, have a symmetrical two-window frontage. The windows are 6/6 sashes, with a blocked central opening featuring a stone sill band, all set beneath cambered heads. The eaves are detailed with brick modillions. Two lead box-dormers provide attic lighting, with 6-light casements and cambered heads. A central entrance has a six-panel door and fanlight, sheltered by a semicircular arch constructed with stone springers and a keyblock. To the left, a similar door and fanlight are set beneath a chamfered stone lintel. Further windows to the left are also 6/6 sashes, set within engraved segmental arches.
