Description
Jeans Fashions is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 17th century and was refronted and extended in the mid-19th century, with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building features a timber frame with painted brick infill, which has been refronted and extended in painted brick beneath a tiled roof. It consists of two parallel ranges aligned east to west, with the southern range added in the 19th century. The main chimney stack is centrally located between the two ranges.
The west front displays two gables adorned with cusped 19th-century bargeboards. On the first floor, there are two 2-light casement windows set under segmental heads. The ground floor features two shop fronts; the one on the right is pilastered and has a blind box above, with a 3-light window and a recessed entrance to the right that includes a two-leaf half-glazed door. The left shop front is also pilastered, with a 3-light window and an entrance to the left that has a half-glazed door. The framing on the exposed north wall consists of four rectangular panels stacked vertically.
