Description

The Bear and Ursa House are two houses dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The houses are constructed of brick, with a roughcast finish on the front elevation and a coursed rubble plinth, all under a hipped tiled roof. A brick stack is located on the north wall.

The west front presents two storeys with an attic, the attic being lit by four flat-roofed dormers. The first floor has eight windows, all with boxed glazing bar sashes. The ground floor has four matching windows situated below a plastered band. A tall carriage entrance is set into the left-hand corner. To the right of centre are two entrances sheltered by a 19th-century flat canopy. The left entrance has an overlight and a panelled door, while the right entrance has an overlight and a half-glazed door.
