Description
106 and 107 Corve Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and dwelling. It dates from the 16th century, with some partial refronting from the 18th century. The building features a timber-frame structure, painted brickwork, and a plain tile roof, with brick stacks at the rear. It has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range that includes late 18th-century casements. To the right, there is an 18th-century leaded light set under a segmental arch, and two bays of close studding on a moulded bressummer.
On the ground floor, there are two matching 20th-century plank doors and three 20th-century bow windows with casements. The left gable displays timber-framing with passing-braces and shows jettying, which is fronted with 20th-century brickwork. At the rear, there is a stepped stone stack with a 20th-century brick chimney and a rubble lean-to with a plain tile roof. The rear also features an exposed frame post and leaded lights, along with a second rubble chimney base that has an 18th-century brick chimney. The right gable, made of painted 18th-century brick, indicates a probable raised roof pitch at the front.
