Description

This is a barn, possibly from the 18th century, located about 100 yards east of Mathon Court. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill panels and a rubble base, topped with a tiled roof. The barn consists of five bays and includes decorative brick ventilator panels and opposed full-height central entrances. The frame has three panels high from the cill to the wall-plate, with angled struts connecting the cill to the door posts and to the post at the junction of the two right-hand bays. Inside, there is a threshing floor, raking struts leading to collars, and central plank posts supporting the tie-beams on either side of the entrance. The door posts are further reinforced by struts that rise transversely from floor level.
