Description

Stockton House is a house likely dating from the late 17th to early 18th century, which was re-fronted around 1835. The house is timber-framed and has roughcast rendering, with a tiled roof. A substantial external rubble stack of a local type is positioned to the left, with tiled offsets, and a smaller 19th-century stack is at the right end. The two-storey, two-bay front has canted bay windows on the ground floor, featuring four panes plus sixteen panes of glass. Above, symmetrically placed first-floor windows have two sixteen-pane sashes. A small, flat-roofed porch with side glazing sits centrally at the entrance. The rear elevation reveals timber-frame panels of regular scantling above a 20th-century single-storey extension, which continues around the left side as a tiled catslide roof.
