Description

Clyde Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the early to mid-19th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill panels and a corrugated iron finish on the left gable wall. The roof is slate, and there is a local type external end stack on the right. The cottage is one storey with an attic and consists of about two bays, which probably form two rooms, one above the other. The entrance is located at the front, away from the road. The framing is regular but very thin, with three panels high from the cill to the wall-plate and eight panels in length. This building is included as a very late example of the local timber-frame tradition.
