Description

Old Lands is a cottage that possibly dates back to the late 17th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick and wattle and daub infill panels, topped with an asbestos-tiled roof. The cottage has a local type external stack with a detached brick shaft located to the right. It is one storey high with an attic and consists of three bays. On the ground floor, there are two 19th-century casement windows that are evenly spaced, and there are two raking-top dormers in the attic. The entrance is located in the left bay, accessed through a ledged 19th-century door. The frame of the cottage is three panels high from the cill to the wall-plate, and there are plank weatherings above the door, windows, and the right-hand tie-beam.
